Retired NASA astronaut Michael López-Alegría commanded the Ax-1 mission last year. So far, NASA has required private astronaut missions to the station be commanded by a former professional astronaut. It’s unknown how that might compare to a fully commercial seat price. The cost per seat has not been released, but NASA’s inspector general has estimated the price of a seat on a SpaceX Dragon spacecraft at about $55 million for NASA astronauts. NASA is making resources on the space station available for commercial astronaut missions like Axiom’s flights, but Axiom, and ultimately the private crew members or their sponsors, must pay NASA for training and crew accommodations, such as access to the station’s life support system, food, and toilet. The Ax-2 mission is Axiom’s second crew mission, following the company’s Ax-1 flight in April 2022 that made history as the first fully private astronaut crew to reach the space station. They will also greet and spend time with the seven crew members living on the station for long-duration stays. Their mission is funded by the government of Saudi Arabia.ĭuring their time in orbit, Whitson, Shoffner, Alqarni, and Barnawi will perform biomedical experiments, chemistry and materials science research, and educational events with students on the ground. Saudi Arabian astronauts Ali Alqarni and Rayyanah Barnawi will fly as mission specialists on the Ax-2 mission, which is expected to last 10 days.Īlqarni and Barnawi will be the first Saudi Arabians to fly to the International Space Station, and Barnawi will be the first Arab woman on the orbiting research outpost. businessman John Shoffner, who paid for his seat on the Axiom-sponsored flight to the space station. She retired from NASA’s astronaut corps in 2018 after three long-duration missions on the space station, totaling 665 days in orbit. Record-breaking astronaut Peggy Whitson, with more time in space than any other American, leads the crew. The four-person crew will ride into orbit aboard a SpaceX Falcon 9 rocket and Dragon spacecraft. EDT (2137 UTC) Sunday from Launch Complex 39A at NASA’s Kennedy Space Center in Florida. The private crew mission, managed by Houston-based Axiom Space, is set for liftoff at 5:37 p.m. The second fully commercial astronaut flight to the International Space Station will have just two opportunities to launch Sunday and Monday, or else wait until after an upcoming SpaceX resupply mission next month to deliver a new set of high-priority solar arrays to the complex. Credit: Axiom Space / European Space Agency PLEASE DO NOT SHARE EITHER THIS PATCH OR A PRE-PATCHED ISO ANYWHERE!!īecause the Front Mission 5 Team has threatened to abandon any further work on any more games if you do.Ax-2 mission commander Peggy Whitson, mission specialist Rayyanah Barnawi, pilot John Shoffner, and mission specialist Ali Alqarni train at the European Astronaut Center in Germany. If one does not work, then try the other (each time on a clean ISO). But with everything now translated–even if you have to refer to the text file to know what’s happening during most of the Events–this game should now be fully playable.īecause of possible compatibility problems with your ISO, there are 2 patches. So, the patch is now final and finished, but not quite technically complete. So, they’ve included a text file that contains the translated script for all the Events as a workaround. …then you will need to use the included Data Conversion tool on your ISO before you patch it.Īll the scripts have been translated, but apparently they did/could not insert all of the translated script for the Events in the game (ran out of space to work with, perhaps?). WARNING: THIS PATCH IS ONLY FOR THE REPRINT VERSIONS OF FRONT MISSION 2 WHICH ARE:
